Online Job Opportunities – Proven Tips to Getting Hired
It just goes without saying that the more applications you send, the better chances of you getting noticed and hired. While this may be true, we should also ask ourselves if we’re applying the right way. Family, when looking for online job opportunities, it’s important that you understand that there’s a “right way” of applying, and a “wrong way” of doing it and doing the later won’t get you anywhere. If you aren’t getting any results from your job applications, reading this will serve you well. I’ll give you an in-depth discussion of the things that you should be doing to get you hired out of the multitude of applicants.
If you’ve been freelancing for quite a while, you must know by now that the moment you apply, 2 – 5 minutes after there’d be 10 to 20 other applicants on the same job position that you applied to. Not to discourage you family but competition’s really “cut-throat” when it comes to online freelancing. Depending on the kind of job that you applied to, you may end-up competing with 200 – 400+ other applicants (this is especially true in data entry tasks). If this got you discouraged, don’t let it. That’s why I wrote this article so you’d gain VERY powerful tips on getting hired out of the 200 – 400 other applicants. I will also be exposing to you shocking truths about job applications that’ll help increase your online job opportunities. The procedures and techniques that I’ll be teaching you aren’t just ideas or experimental, these tips are PROVEN to have worked! If you take action on my advice and have them implemented immediately, you’d see a 20% – 40% increase in your chances of being hired.
Here’s what you should do:
Don’t EMPHASIZE on your qualifications…
That’s right! I did tell you not to EMPHASIZE on describing yourself! People, when applying tend to EMPHASIZE on the fact that they are an expert in marketing, experienced in SEO, article writing, SMM etc… and the list goes on. Doing something like this won’t increase your online job opportunities.
Family you’ve got to realize that EMPHASIZING on who you are simply won’t cut it! Rather than emphasizing the fact that you are highly capable in doing the job, you’d have better chances if you’d emphasize on HOW THEY CAN BENEFIT FROM YOUR QUALIFICATIONS. Try comparing these lines…
I am an expert in SEO vs. I can get you ranked
I am an expert in marketing vs. I can get your product exposure on thousands of viewers
I am an experienced article writer vs. You’ll get high quality articles
See the difference? So basically, your emphasis should be on HOW THEY CA BENEFIT FROM YOU rather than who you are and what your experience is. A simple analogy to prove this point is this… People don’t want umbrellas, what they want is to not get soaked in the rain.
Take time to write your cover letter
Family, you have to believe me that this tip, together with the first one wilNl get you the online job opportunities that you’re looking for. If you’ve been freelancing all along and you haven’t tried posting a job yourself, you should try posting one right now so you’d see what I mean.
Since I wanted to know how clients would review the job applications, I tried posting a job myself to see how it’d look like when the clients receive all the applications. To my surprise, only a handful would make cover letters that are well written. Majority of the cover letters are clearly generic, others are just applicants describing who they are, and it’s sad to say this but most of the cover letters aren’t really cover letters. People would just say… “I want to do the job”, “Hire me”, “I have plenty of time to do the work”, etc… There’s no way these people would be consider for the task. That being said, don’t be intimidated by the number of applicants in the job post, I can tell you right now that 50% – 70% of those applicants have no chance of being considered. If you want online job opportunities, you should CRITICALLY write your cover letters.
Take time to optimize your profile
By optimizing I mean completing it, adding consistency, and adding the necessary ingredients to make you look professional. This also has a great bearing in getting you the online job opportunities!
Completing your profile
This says a lot about the applicant. This can even be the deciding factor on whether you’d be hired or not. Profiles that aren’t complete or especially the ones that are ALMOST EMPTY spells lack of credibility or is just flat-out bogus! No one wants to hire someone that doesn’t even look real.
If you intend to work as a social media marketer, it’d bring you better results if everything about your profile talks about SMM. Your skills should mention SMM, background, and most of all your portfolios.
Being professional looking
This can be done by doing the first two tips, completing your profile, adding consistency to it, and you should also ask for recommendations or feedback from your previous clients.
Value your clients
Majority of my online job opportunities are form previous clients whom I’ve worked with. If you treat them fairly, honestly and if you take time to ensure your work is of awesome quality, you might not ever have to apply for jobs online. Most of your previous clients will just do continued business with you. Once you’ve built a large pool of clientele, you’d surely have enough work than you can handle.
To those that are still beginners and are thinking twice about doing jobs online due to competition, I sure hope that this article served you well. Once again, if you choose to act on these tips, you’ll get a dramatic increase in your rate of being hired. Family, when looking for online job opportunities, you should be optimistic with your hopes up and doubts shouldn’t be a part of the equation. If you’re still doubting whether or not you’ve be hired, try carefully making an awesome profile, a well written cover letter and post it on ALL the outsourcing sites. Even if you’d just post it on 2 sites, I can almost guarantee you that you’d be hired one way or another.
